Okay but Gstaad… this place is unreal. I took the Okay but Gstaad… this place is unreal. I took the MOB Belle Époque train in, and honestly that’s the only way to do it. Think vintage carriages, huge windows, and rolling past Lake Geneva with those unreal vineyard views before pulling straight into Gstaad. It’s slow travel at its best and easily one of the most scenic train rides in Switzerland. And then you arrive… and it’s all wooden chalets, crisp mountain air, and that quiet luxury vibe Gstaad is known for. Mornings here are for long walks through the village promenade, coffee with a view, and taking the cable car up Eggli or Glacier 3000 for panoramic Swiss Alps views. In summer it’s all about hiking and biking in the Bernese Oberland, and in winter it turns into a proper snow globe with world class skiing and the coziest après-ski spots. The giant Christmas tree, the sparkling decorations, the magical snow globe displays… even the Casino gets its own little show every evening. It’s impossible not to feel festive. Down at Port Hercule, the Christmas Market is in full swing with wooden chalets, mulled wine, cosy treats, a Ferris wheel overlooking the harbour… all the good Christmas vibes but with that Monaco twist. And yes, the ice skating rink by the sea is back too, which honestly never gets old. Skating with views of the yachts?
